Winnie the Pooh and Friends

The original stuffed animals that inspired A.A. Milne to create "Winnie-the-Pooh" will move from the main children's room in the Donnell Library Center in May in advance of the bulding's tear-down to make way for a luxury hotel.

But don't expect Pooh to hibernate for a secluded, long winter nap.

Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet and Kanga will move to another Midtown location -- at the main Humanities & Social Sciences Library at 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue.

"We do expect they will be on public display," Herb Scher, a spokesman for the New York Public Library today told NewYorkology. Details still need to be worked out, but the plan is to move them sometime in May, he said.
